Peisaj de iarna

A venit iarna!
Asa imi amintesc eu despre iarna copilariei mele...

my message to MJ!

Being a big fan of MJ, I googled for some wise words of my genious friend.
I found some..most simple, but yet sincere and showing a lot of love. He was kind, sweet, gentle, noble, modest, yet famous. His music amaze me every single time. I wished he was still with us, here ...I wished he would have finished This is It-the concert (which would have been , probably, the ultimate concert ever seen and performed)..I will miss his presence on tv, in live concerts, news, but at least we all have his music, which continues to like to all the ages.
Long live the King!

Before I would hurt a child, I would slit my wrists.

Quotation of Michael Jackson
Children show me in their playful smiles the divine in everyone. This simple goodness shines straight from their hearts and only asks to be lived.
Quotation of Michael Jackson
Elizabeth Taylor is gorgeous, beautiful, and she still is today, I'm crazy about her.

I love my family very much. I wish I could see them a little more often than I do. But we understand because we're a show business family and we all work.

I'm a black American, I am proud of my race. I am proud of who I am. I have a lot of pride and dignity.

I'm happy to be alive, I'm happy to be who I am.
Quotation of Michael Jackson
I'm just like anyone. I cut and I bleed. And I embarass easily.

The charming city of Porto (portugal)

I have been there in february 2009. Lovely, lively, cheap, extraordinary food, great views, nice and happy people, lots of turists, portuguese language sounding exciting to me as never before, very good hotel... and the best company for me (Sam)...,there might be other stuff I try to remember now...but I will never forget this city where one can admire the views of the Atlantic Ocean. I have added some pictures now. Hope you´ll like it , as I did. :)

Fire and Ice, by Robert Frost

"Some say the world will end in fire;
Some say in ice.
From what I've tasted of desire
I hold with those who favor fire.
But if it had to perish twice,
I think I know enough of hate
To know that for destruction ice
Is also great
And would suffice.!"

Forever and for allways...Romania

My beautiful country, my Romanica is passing through not so great times right now.
This financial and economical crisis stroke hard our borders.
I have seen this when I was home, a few days ago, it´s though, because people are not rich or not happy or not even gaining a decent salary, and I can observe that for the normal middle class (not even talk about people gaining minimum salary per economy) it is harder than ever before to save the day and try and give food to their kids. Politicians just don´t seem to care...they never did.
We, we were the ones that once hoped that things will have a better ending, hoping sincerly that this politician is better than his predecesor.
We were fooling ourselves..
I think all of us wanted a better future, thinking that choosing this man or that man will get us out of the trouble...
In a few days:presidencial elections. I will not vote! I think my parents either..Whom could I vote for? I don´t even trust any of them. They are corrupt, and the ones that seem clean just wait in pole-position for the new job, getting benefits, and in the end being as corrupt as the ones before him, itñs looking like a chain reaction...makes me mad and makes me sick thinking about politics..
People suffer more, especially now when You can not get a job so easy, when you have to be the best to get some offer, that´s the world where I find it frustrating to live in..

I hope the best..for Romanians and for me too!

Good-luck Romanica!

Yours,
Stefa.

Valencia

What a wonderful city is Valencia! it was very very hot for October(29ºC), but in spite of that, I had great time. I was dreaming of trying the famous Paella Valenciana and I had the chance to do so in a restaurant in the harbour area.
I only spent 2 days and a half but I felt somehow disappointed that I could not see the Oceanographic and Aquarium and admire all the dolphins...next time, I guess.
I also enjoyed that I met 2 friends of mine and was great to discover the city together.

Next stop: Valencia!

Valencia, that´s where I plan to spend this week-end.
I heard so many good stuff about it, also about
its vegetarian paella (paella valenciana),
can´t wait to taste it!

Hopefully we´ll have nice weather and enjoy the
city.
On my way back, promise to write a few more lines,
as I would probabbly know a bit more than I do
know now.
So, hasta la vuelta!

...Despre toamna..

:)

Toamna e acea perioada a anului cand se aduna roadele pamantului, cand ajutam bunicii la culesul fructelor, precum spre exemplu a strugurilor pentru a face vinul de casa. Am atatea amintiti placute, in special din copilarie.

"October is a symphony of permanence and change."
(Bonaro W. Overstreet)
"Autumn is a second spring when every leaf is a flower. "

Be who you are !

When life gives you a hundred reasons to cry, show life that you have a thousand reasons to smile.
I have seen Trieste for a day only, but I liked the place!
It is nice to walk around that city, the same city where James Joyce spent 2 years from his life, where he started writing "Ulyses" and "Dubliners"..

He even has a statue there!

Italians are ok, not the best people I ever met, or the nicest or the most generous or simple. But they have a good gastronomical tradition. Great food!

Budapest

Budapest, great city, cosmopolitan and varied.
I spent 6 beautiful days there, living in a flat in the Old Jewish Neighbourhood, which is so closed to the city center. I really liked the atmosphere and the nice little coffee shops and all kind of restaurants.
We had the chance to see two villages outside Budapest: Godollo and Szentendre.
I found them quite touristic, especially the last one, and very lively.
Budapest is one of the nicest places I have visisted so far.
Loved it.

As the largest city of Hungary, it serves as the country's principal political, cultural, commercial, industrial, andtransportation center[2] and is considered an important hub in Central Europe

Originally Budapest had 10 districts after coming into existence upon the unification of the three cities in 1873. On 1 January, 1950 Budapest was united with several neighboring towns and the number of its districts was raised to 22 (Greater Budapest). At that time there were changes both in the order of districts and in their sizes. Now there are 23 districts, 6 in Buda, 16 inPest and 1 on Csepel Island between them. Each district can be associated with one or more city parts named after former towns within Budapest.

Seven islands can be found on the Danube: Shipyard Island, Margaret Island, Csepel Island, Palotai-sziget (now a peninsula), Népsziget, Háros-sziget, and Molnár-sziget.

Heroes´ Square : Heroes' Square, where Andrássy Avenue meets Dózsa György út, is the biggest and most impressive square of Budapest. In the middle stands the Millennium Monument, with Archangel Gabriel on top, holding the double cross of Christianity and the Holy Hungarian Crown.

It was constructed to mark the 1000th anniversary of the arrival of the Magyar tribes. The pedestal below is occupied by the ornate horseback statues of the seven Hungarian leaders who led the Hungarian nation into the Carpathian Basin in 896 AD. The middle of the square is dominated by the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier, wreathed by all heads of state when officially visiting Hungary

Dubrovnik

File:Main street-Dubrovnik-2.jpg

I liked Dubrovnik, beautiful medieval city, nice people and great views.
I did not discover anything I hadn´t tryed before about food. Croatian food is inspired in the Italian one. They should be more "original", but overall, Dubrovnik worths his name as "The Pearl of the Adriatic".
